Hello, I'm Ian Thomson, a figurative artist with over 30 years experience, I'm also a lecturer in art and design, printmaker and illustrator, but painting in my passion.
Current work
I'm normally quite a 'tight' painter, I like details. I've painted liked that since I first picked up a brush. However, some months back I started experimenting with pallette knives and really love the textural results it produced. Combining this technique with my figurative work led me to explore my first dancer. Its an ongoing project at the moment and I'm enjoying the new, unexpected direction its currently taking me in.
