I've put the work below in to categories, its a mixed collection of some of my commissioned and exhibited work from some years back that I've been able to source images of. Not all of the images are the best quality, between painting, teaching and family, taking time to record my work with a decent camera was not always possible, just producing the best work was always the goal.

VENETIANS

I love the commedia del art characters. I first came across them back in the 90's when I discovered Maurice Sands 19th century drawings of them. I went on to paint the characters and their masks over a number of years for various exhibitions. Even today I'm still drawn to these masked entertainers.

Legends, myths and literary

As with the two girls above, I often use sitters I know. I also like to tackle literary characters too 'Mr Tumnus' was a student at the time, 'The Master of Misrule' was also a colleague - the super talented Gavin Smith he's also 'Bacchus' at the end and the character of 'Bottom' from a Midsummer Nights dream was from a local petting zoo, with my shoulder propping him up
